"The spark you have ignited with your efforts in AI and education, and this continuous peer learning, will lead to a technological revolution in this tribal area."
These words by one of the teachers from Pin Valley, HP, during our first online meeting of the AI Community of Practice held on November 16, 2025, are very encouraging. They continue to fuel my passion for working with communities on the ground.
My learning continues to come from volunteering on farms, teaching German language to refugees, and working with groups focused on soil erosion and desertification, food security, and education.
These experiences help me understand how people organise, share knowledge, and build systems. These community projects are the essential learning that is now guiding the preparatory work for the skills school I envision to start in Spiti and many more places around the world. Creating access to holistic learning where practical work and local wisdom will shape how we learn, grow and thrive in sync with the environment.
